Shreya was his Ms.Perfect.. Every other girl he saw, he would portray a Shreya in her.. None would match.. Some would come close, but none would perfectly fit.. One fine Summer day, he saw his princess. Dressed in a white churidhar with a dupatta over her shoulders, she fit Shreya like a T. It was Crush at First Sight.
He did all that he could to woo her - and most of it were down right crazy. He would call her mobile at odd hours, and would later act as if he mis-dialled her number. Would give missed calls from his friend's mobile. Would send useless forwards to her email id just so that she saw his name often. Would ping her on messenger just to speak crap. Would send her birthday wishes at 12 am. Would take her out when she wanted to get something. Would pick the best restraunts and "treat" her for whatever he could think of, which he would comfortably label as a "date" to his friends... Been there, done that - he thought to himself.
'If only it were to be', he would often say. There was nothing that really stopped him from asking her out.. He just didnt have the nerves.. His friends were a useless bunch of guys, each in a more pathetic state than himself. No, he couldnt turn to them for help, lest they would screw it up badly.. He had to think of some way to do it himself.. Well, he settled for the obvious option... It had taken him 4 years to prepare himself..
"Greeting Card, 550 rupees; Roses, 200 rupees; Her answer, priceless" he told to himself.. Neatly dressed, he was as handsome as he ever was.. This was the moment of truth. He proposed..
"I have never really known u, man" - pat came the reply.. No no no.. This couldnt be happening... He couldnt believe his ears.. 'She doesnt really know me'!!! What sort of an answer is that? "We have spoken to each other now and then.. What, we have known each other only for a few years now.. I dont think we know much of each other.. I dont think I can accept", she carried on..
'Girls!', he thought to himself.
